    Snoezelen

A space dedicated to sensory relaxation. A bubble where you breathe and find yourself again.

"Snoezelen is offering a space where everyone can feel, explore, and blossom at their own pace."

    Ad Verheul

The word Snoezelen comes from the blending of two Dutch verbs: snuffelen (to sniff, to explore) and doezelen (to doze, to relax). Developed in the 1970s by Jan Hulsegge and Ad Verheul, the approach offers an environment where every sense is gently engaged, without constraint or learning objective.

In our nurseries, the Snoezelen space is a refuge. Children go there to slow down, find their inner rhythm, defuse a strong emotion, or simply for the pleasure of the moment.

    Sight

Soft lights, optical fibres, projections in shifting colours. The gaze settles, slows down, lets itself be captured.

    Hearing

Soothing music, sounds of nature, instruments to touch. A soundscape that invites inner calm.

    Touch

Soft cushions, textured mats, sensory balls. The body feels itself, tension settles.

    Smell

Discreet diffusion of natural scents according to the season. Emotional memory finds calm through the senses.

"Offering a space where children can feel, explore and relax safely nurtures their well-being and blossoming."
